Cromwell Architects Engineers Announces Executive Leadership Transition

As Cromwell celebrates the retirement of Chairman and Chief Executive Officer Greg Cockmon after 37 years of dedicated service, the firm is pleased to announce its next chapter of leadership and a succession plan designed to continue Cromwell’s legacy of excellence while positioning the firm for future growth.

Effective July 9th, 2026, Dan Fowler, AIA, assumed the role of Chairman and Chief Executive Officer. Todd Kuhn, PE, has transitioned into the role of President, Rob Seay, PE, will continue serving as Executive Vice President, and Aaron Scott, AIA will join the firm’s executive leadership team as Executive Vice President.

The leadership transition reflects Cromwell’s long-standing commitment to thoughtful succession planning and the development of leaders who understand the firm’s culture, values, and vision for the future.

Dan Fowler Named Chairman & Chief Executive Officer

Dan Fowler’s story at Cromwell mirrors the opportunities that have defined the firm’s culture for generations. Beginning as an intern at the age of 19, Dan has spent his career growing alongside the organization, serving in COO and President roles before Chief Executive Officer.

A graduate of the University of Arkansas Fay Jones School of Architecture and Design, Dan earned his Bachelor of Architecture degree with honors, graduating cum laude in 1997. He was also recognized with the prestigious Henry Adams Fund Certificate of Merit for Design Achievement.

Throughout his career, Dan has demonstrated a unique combination of design excellence, strategic thinking, and business leadership. As President, he has overseen the firm’s financial and business operations while helping guide its continued growth and expansion.

As an architect, Dan is particularly passionate about urban design, adaptive reuse, campus planning, and historic preservation. He has played significant roles in urban initiatives and downtown revitalization efforts throughout Arkansas and beyond, helping shape communities through thoughtful and impactful design.

“Dan understands what makes Cromwell special because he has grown up with this firm,” said Greg Cockmon. “He is an exceptional architect, a respected leader, and someone who is deeply committed to our employees, our clients, and our future. I have tremendous confidence in Dan’s ability to lead Cromwell into its next chapter. His lifelong career here gives him a genuine understanding of what makes Cromwell so special, and a unique perspective on the firm’s future.”

Dan is a graduate of both Leadership Greater Little Rock and Leadership Arkansas and has been instrumental in shaping Cromwell’s strategic direction in recent years.

“It is an incredible honor to have the opportunity to lead a firm with such a rich history and strong reputation,” said Fowler. “Cromwell’s success has always been built on the talent of our people, the trust of our clients, and our commitment to creating meaningful impact through design and engineering. I look forward to building on that foundation while continuing to invest in our people, our communities, and the future of our profession.”

Todd Kuhn Appointed President

As Dan transitions into the CEO role, Todd Kuhn assumes the position of President.

Todd has served as Executive Vice President and brings more than 36 years of experience in client program management, project management, design, commissioning, and advanced energy diagnostics. Throughout his career, he has established himself as an innovative leader focused on delivering value and long-term results.

One of Todd’s most significant accomplishments was spearheading the creation of Cromwell Energy Services. Recognizing the growing demand for sustainable and energy-efficient solutions, Todd developed a dedicated team focused on helping clients improve building performance, reduce energy consumption, and achieve long-term operational goals.

“Todd has consistently demonstrated the vision, leadership, and operational expertise needed to help guide our firm forward,” said Fowler. “His ability to identify opportunities, develop innovative solutions, and build strong client relationships has had a tremendous impact on Cromwell’s success.”

As President, Todd will oversee the firm’s day-to-day operations while continuing to support strategic growth initiatives and client development efforts across all market sectors.

In addition to Todds operational responsibilities he will assume our Federal Practice leadership role that has been led by Greg Cockman. Todd has spent a significant part of his career supporting our Federal Clients across the globe and will continue to do so in this leadership role.

Rob Seay Continues as Executive Vice President

Rob Seay serves as Executive Vice President. In this role he leads Cromwell’s Engineering Departments and our Industrial Practice.

Throughout his career, Rob has played a critical role in advancing the firm’s engineering capabilities and maintaining Cromwell’s reputation for technical excellence. He oversees engineering operations, project coordination, quality management processes, and the development of engineering concepts across the firm’s diverse portfolio.

His experience includes the design of highly complex facilities, research laboratories, office buildings, and mission-critical systems. Rob’s expertise in mechanical systems design, environments, and engineering has contributed significantly to many of Cromwell’s most impactful projects.

“Rob’s leadership and technical expertise continue to be invaluable to our organization,” said Fowler. “His commitment to quality, innovation, and mentorship has strengthened our engineering practice and helped develop the next generation of engineering leaders. Under Rob’s leadership our Industrial practice has grown to be one of the most recognized in the US, building on a legacy that was established with the arrival of Winthrop Rockefeller to Arkansas.”

Aaron Scott Joins Executive Leadership Team

As part of the leadership transition, Aaron Scott has been promoted to Executive Vice President and will join Cromwell’s executive leadership team.

Aaron currently serves as Director of Healthcare and has built a distinguished career focused on healthcare design and planning. With two decades of architectural experience, he has become one of the region’s leading healthcare design professionals and is board-certified through the American College of Healthcare Architects (ACHA).

His portfolio includes hospitals, medical office buildings, ambulatory surgery centers, clinics, imaging centers, and Department of Defense healthcare projects throughout the United States and abroad.

Aaron’s expertise spans every phase of architectural practice, from programming and space planning through design integration, construction documentation, and construction administration. His ability to navigate complex regulatory requirements while creating high-performing healthcare environments has made him a trusted advisor to healthcare providers and institutional clients alike.

A graduate of Leadership Arkansas, Aaron brings both technical expertise and strategic leadership experience to the executive team.

“Aaron’s promotion reflects the significant impact he has had on our healthcare practice and our firm as a whole,” said Fowler. “He is a respected leader, an outstanding architect, and someone who consistently demonstrates a commitment to excellence. We are excited to welcome him to the executive leadership team.”

Building on a Strong Foundation

This leadership transition represents more than a change in titles, it reflects Cromwell’s commitment to continuity, stability, and thoughtful growth.

With Dan Fowler as Chief Executive Officer, Todd Kuhn as President, Rob Seay and Aaron Scott as Executive Vice Presidents, Cromwell enters its next chapter with a leadership group that combines decades of experience, technical expertise, and a shared commitment to serving clients and communities.

The future of Cromwell is bright, and this next generation of leadership is ready to carry that legacy forward.
