Cromwell is proud to welcome five interns to our Little Rock office for the summer of 2022. They are (pictured left to right, back row) Matt Martin, Katherine Schaffhauser, Stuart Fletcher, (front row) Maddox Townsend, and Jeremiah Brown.
Martin, interning in our Mechanical Engineering department, is a Wilton, Conn. native attending Wake Forest University. He is majoring in engineering with concentrations in civil/environmental engineering and mechanical engineering and minoring in mathematics. He’s a member of Sigma Pi fraternity and involved with the club lacrosse team. During his internship, he hopes to gain a better understanding of the role of mechanical engineering on a macro-scale and in a larger system and become more comfortable using Revit software. After graduation, he hopes to work as an engineer for a firm.
Schaffhauser, interning in our Electrical Engineering department, is a Little Rock, Ark. native attending the University of Arkansas. She is majoring in electrical engineering with a minor in mathematics. She is a member of the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers at the University and spends time volunteering with the Our House shelter with her family. During her internship, she hopes to not only gain greater insight and skills from the electrical department, but from all departments at Cromwell to learn all the different parts it takes to complete a project. She’s a rising junior who hopes to one day work for a firm like Cromwell.
Fletcher, interning in our Energy Services department, is a Little Rock, Ark. native attending the University of Arkansas. He is majoring in mechanical engineering. He’s a member of Beta Upsilon Chi fraternity. During his internship, he hopes to learn more about the commissioning process and gain experience underneath the dedicated engineers that comprise it. After graduation he plans to pursue a master’s degree in mechanical engineering and get involved in computational fluid dynamics research at the University.
Townsend, interning for his second summer with our Architecture department, is a Bentonville, Ark. native attending the University of Arkansas. He’s majoring in Architecture with a minor in History of Architecture. He is a member of the Phi Delta Theta fraternity and volunteers with Fellowship Bible Church. During his internship, he hopes to gain a better understanding of the day-to-day responsibilities of an architect and learn more about what architecture is like in practice. He’s currently in his fourth year of a five-year architecture program and hopes to become a licensed architect and to design with the intent of creating a fuller and more beneficial experience for the user or occupants.
Brown, interning with our Architecture department, is a Kansas City, Mo. native attending University of Nebraska – Lincoln. He is currently seeking a master’s degree. He is a committee member of the Search Advisory Board for the new College of Architecture Dean, as well as a member of the National Society of Collegiate Scholars. He volunteers at Harvesters with his church in Kansas City. During his internship, he hopes to work on more CD sets to understand what drawings are needed in them and exactly how they should look. After graduation he wants to work to create impacts within his community and help design/prepare spaces that encourage positive and memorable experiences.
