The new arena will contain 2,800 permanent seats and will have seating on the floor for 600 students and faculty, along with a portable stage. The total seating capacity for graduation is approximately 3,400. All seating will have permanent chair backs. The design will incorporate honor walls, historical photos, and placement for various achievements. The arena’s main use will be for basketball and volleyball and will meet AAA guidelines for state tournaments. Another important function of the arena will be for it to hold graduation ceremonies for the school.
There will be ground access to the arena at both the concourse and court levels, a unique feature to the design of the structure. The arena incorporates home and visitor lockers for both boys and girls, plus additional visiting lockers, for a total of seven locker rooms. Changing rooms for officials will be included, as well as laundry facilities, training room, weight room, and coaches’ offices. The arena will have full concession facilities, audiovisual room, and a hospitality room for special events and reunions. Additional amenities include a cheer and dance practice room, a safe space under concourse, and a golf simulator.
