The goals for the project were to consolidate the Space Development Innovation Center into one facility and to present and present an innovative, modern image that reflects the mission of the Space Innovation and Development Center. The overall image of the facility is one of contemporary sophistication and represents the Air Force’s reputation for progressive technology. Materials were selected to achieve the shared values of low operating and maintenance costs, energy efficiency, durability, and compatibility with other new construction on Base.

The facility includes a Secured Compartment Information Facility (SCIF) and open storage secret wall construction technology.  Due to the nature of the work done inside the facility, windows were limited to selected areas of the building.  The facility conducts space technology development, demonstration, integration, and testing efforts  while supporting the war fighters as  premier innovators, integrators and operational testers of air, space and cyberspace power.

This project was the recipient of the 2010 United States Air Force Honor Award.
