Baxter Regional Medical Center (BRMC) is a short-term acute care facility in north Arkansas that currently provides all of their surgical services in the main hospital. The current surgical department needed renovation and upgrades and in order to create relief in their scheduling, the facility realized the need for an ambulatory surgery center.
The 22,000 SF free-standing ambulatory surgery center is located on the campus of Baxter Regional Medical Center. The multi-specialty facility includes six operating rooms, 27 prep/recovery beds, central sterilization, patient check-in, business office, and waiting room.
The prep/recovery beds and post-anesthesia care unit (PACU) beds allow for additional growth and efficiency for shorter, high volume procedures. A fully equipped central sterile is included to provide dedicated service to the ambulatory surgery center (ASC). It also serves as a back up to the main hospital central sterile facility. The new facility provides incentive for surgeons to schedule procedures locally and relieves the current OR suite of less acute cases that can be treated on an outpatient basis.
