The ‘Caring Through the Seasons’ theme provides a sense of orientation and makes each patient room special. Not only does this meticulously planned environment employ state-of-the-art equipment, it also offers staff improved patient access and supervision. Private rooms, some with panoramic views of the state capital out spacious windows, provide parents with daybeds and private toilets. To quote Dr. Sunny Anand, chief of pediatric critical care medicine for Arkansas Children’s, “Visitors and family members have reported greater comfort and have found the environment and interior design calming and soothing, perhaps during the most stressful period of their lives. The new design of the new PICU has resulted in improved patient care, improved therapeutic outcomes and increased staff performance and efficiency.”
