Molex Incorporated is a manufacturer of electronic, electrical, and fiber optic interconnection systems and has been located in Central Arkansas for over 30 years. They have been operating out of their Maumelle facility, but due to company growth, were looking for an additional location. They chose the old Southwestern Energy Building in Conway and worked with Cromwell to renovate the existing space to serve their current needs.
The newly renovated 37,000 SF facility employs more than 100 engineering and technical professionals and serves as the primary innovation hub for Molex’s Data Center Solutions Department. Approximately two-thirds of the building contains work spaces and the remaining third is reserved for lab areas. HVAC duct work and variable air volume (VAV) boxes were rearranged to accommodate the new layout. Electrical work included powering all systems, furniture, lab equipment, and supplementing existing lighting. Alterations to finishes included installing vinyl flooring and electrostatic dissipative flooring in certain lab areas, as well as minor modifications to existing carpet, ceilings, and painted walls.
