Ed is a graduate of Auburn University School of Architecture and is a principal at Cromwell, where he has practiced architecture for the last 24 years. He has designed buildings in many states (AR, CA, TX, MD, FL, CO, NV, PA) as well as overseas (Singapore, South Korea, Japan, Germany, Italy and Belgium). He specializes in the design of military buildings, university classroom buildings and corporate office buildings. Ed is a LEED Accredited Professional and, to date, has designed five sustainable buildings using the LEED guidelines for excellence in energy efficiency and high performance buildings. Because of his work with the US military, he has also received training in antiterrorism design and has designed numerous buildings that are in compliance with the Unified Facilities Criteria DoD Minimum Antiterrorism Standards for Buildings. Ed serves as a Code and Life Safety expert resource at Cromwell and receives annual training to maintain a high level of up to date knowledge regarding building and life safety codes.

In his spare time, he is a sculptor working mostly with wood and clay, is an avid cyclist, and is an active member of the board of directors for the Boys and Girls Club of Central Arkansas. He is active in Arkansas Community Development through his work on the Breakthrough Solutions Steering Committee since 2005, and most recently was appointed to the Friends of Two Rivers Park Board of Directors. He is active in his church and has been a small group leader at Fellowship Bible Church for the past 10 years. His wife Mary and their four sons live on the banks of the Arkansas River adjacent to Two Rivers Park, where they enjoy the geese, ducks, deer and other wildlife that the river supports.
